On 2nd July, 2019, I competed in the Pendine International Voice Of The Future at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod.
I heard about the competition from last years winner - the amazing Charlotte Hoather. Charlotte and I performed in Surrey Opera's Candide at The Minack Theatre last July.
This was my first time competing at such a big event. After having emergency dental work the day before, I knew I just had to enjoy the experience, do my best and sing from the heart! The preliminary round of the competition took place in the Town Hall to a friendly audience and of course, the adjudicators. I was accompanied by the official accompanist, Annabel Thwaite (who was amazing!). I couldn't believe it when they announced that I was one of the 6 singers chosen to proceed to the semi-final!
The semi-final took place on 3rd July on the Pavilion Stage. This was an incredible experience. The stage is absolutely huge and the venue seats 4000! I was thrilled to be the only singer from England in the semi-final and to be in the top 6 too. I will definitely be going back to compete again next year!
